Ready for International Fairtrade Fortnight
In preparation for IFF, 7 Austen were selected to listen to a talk from Fairtrade Foundation.
On 2nd February, 7Au joined an online Fairtrade talk. The students gained insight on how coffee beans are produced and how Fairtrade helps farmers, such as those in Kenya, to get paid a fair wage. They learned about the different ways they can help; from buying Fairtrade products, to advocacy and writing to local MPs. The students had an opportunity to be one of the first to hear about the Fairtrade Youth Exhibition which will take place during Fairtrade Fortnight. The students found the talk very inspiring and as a school we are looking forward to more events to mark International Fairtrade Fortnight from Monday 21st February 2022 .
