Double Victory for Girls’ Football

March 19, 2025/in General News/by BHGS

U16 and U13 football teams double victory in the District Football Championship and the English Schools FA Cup 2025

This week has been a week of triumphs for our school teams and girls’ football with two fantastic football victories for our U16 and U13 teams which had us all cheering! 🏆

✨ U16 District Champions! ✨

On Wednesday 19th March, our U16 football team reached new heights as they played in the District Final. After four strong league matches, they powered through to the semi-finals where they delivered an incredible 7-1 win against Dame Alice Owen’s. But the journey didn’t stop there.

In the final, they faced Monks Walk, a team they had previously lost to. However, determination, teamwork, and sheer grit led them to a hard-fought 2-0 victory, crowned as District Champions! Goals from Mia J sealed the win and left the team with a well-deserved trophy.

A massive congratulations to the U16 squad for their incredible achievement: Niamh R, Scarlett M, Imogen W, Jolana H, Oliwia U, Darcy W, Evie D, Willow W, Miruna B, Mia J and Natu K

✨ U13 Team Shines in the ESFA Cup! ✨

But the excitement didn’t end there. The very next day, our U13 football team stepped onto the pitch in the 5th round of the English Schools FA Cup, facing a tough challenge from Croxley Danes. The team led 3-1 for most of the match, and despite a tense finish, they held their ground and secured a 3-2 win!

This victory propels them into the 6th round, placing them in the last 16 schools remaining out of 217 that started the competition. The whole team demonstrated remarkable talent, resilience, and teamwork, making it an outstanding performance from our Year 7’s and 8’s.

A big shoutout to the U13 squad for their fantastic performance: Chloe-Anne M, Sophie W, Erin MF, Reecie N, Pippa K, Evie R, Alice C, Tilly C, Gracie DLF, Jahziah A, Jovia A, Alinah S, Jasmine N and Chloe SM.

What a week it has been for our football teams! With two huge wins in the District and English Schools FA Cup, we couldn’t be prouder of our athletes. Their hard work, dedication, and determination are truly inspiring and testament to their . Let’s keep this winning streak going!

Girls’ football is thriving, and we’re proud to support and celebrate the talented young athletes who are paving the way for future success. These victories show what incredible things can happen when girls are given the opportunity to shine on the football pitch. We’re excited for what is to come—this is just the beginning! ⚽💪
