“Pictures of perfection make me sick and wicked” – Jane Austen
Who was Jane Austen?
Jane Austen was a 19th Century English novelist who challenged social perceptions about British landed gentry and wrote many novels, including “Pride and Prejudice”.
Head of House: Mrs Neal
“I am so proud to be Head of House Austen! I trust that each and every member of my team (both pupils and staff) will lead us to victory with all their help and support.
In House Austen we value friendship, enthusiasm and teamwork. We carry ourselves with dignity and respect for other Houses. Above all, we believe it is the taking part that counts. Unless we win. Then it’s all about winning.”
House Captain: Ella Stokes
“Being house captain means being a role model to those who are not only in House Austen but the entire school. It is a huge honour to take on this role, where I hope I can be a friendly face in the school community and can show those in the younger years that taking on responsibility is a great way to help the school and increase your own confidence! Jane Austen was an admirable woman who’s understanding of human nature shone through her riveting, well known novels. As a house I am proud we can mirror these morals set by Austen, as our unity and kind values bring us together and allow us to continue to strive for our best whilst helping one another, attitudes that our house will hold forever, just like Jane Austen’s books.”
