Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival
Stunning performances by representatives of Bishop’s at the Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival
Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School was invited to put forward a couple of our talented musicians to perform as part of the Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival. Sophie G, Year 11 Voice, and Beryl L, Year 10 Violin both performed on Sunday 1st October at St. Etheldreda’s Church, which is just outside the walls of Hatfield House. It was fantastic to have the school represented at such a high profile event. One of our performers, Beryl, recalls her experience of the day:
I attended the Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival to represent our school in playing the violin. The venue was quite big, it was held in one of the churches and it looked beautiful. There was a very grand echo of the music during the performances. The many performers included solo singers, choirs and a cellist. There was also an accompanist there to accompany us. When the performances started, we realised that there were a lot of people in the audience. I was pretty nervous but once I started playing, it was a lot of fun. The rest of the performances were amazing and sounded absolutely angelic as the music echoed off the walls with such elegance and grace. After everyone had performed, the audience gave us all a huge round of applause and compliments. It was a great experience and I had a very enjoyable time!
