County Athletics Plate Final – Junior Team
BHGS junior athletics team is 9th best team
On Monday 4th July, Miss Esterhuizen, Mrs Waters and Miss Cameron took the Junior team to represent Bishop’s in the Hertfordshire Athletics County Plate Final at Jarman Park in Hemel Hempstead. The Junior team had qualified as the 9th best team in our side of Hertfordshire after 6 rounds of the County League competition so had thought they had just missed out on a place in the Plate Final. However, we had received good news the week before that another team had dropped out and we had taken their place.
The Plate Final comprised of the following schools – JFK, Royal Masonic, Parmiters, Hemel Hempstead, Presdales, Hitchin Girls, St Alban Girls and BHGS.
As the lowest ranked school in the Plate Final the standard of competition was always going to be tough but the Junior did team did very well and finished 7th out of 8 schools – a fantastic achievement.
Congratulations to all of the girls who have represented the Junior Athletics team this season and a big thank you to Miss Esterhuizen as Junior Team Manager and Mrs Waters and Miss Cameron for all of their help at training. Well done everyone!
