Year 8 Core Subject Competition

Year 8 pupils get challenged to answer questions in English, Maths and Science in a 4-week House competition

Throughout January, BHGS ran a Year 8 House competition in the form of a quiz across three core subjects. The pupils first competed for four weeks in their Form groups in order to nominate three finalists to represent their respective Houses. They then in turn competed against each other in a House final on Thursday 27th January. The 15 finalists were challenged to answer a variety of questions across English, Science and Mathematics. Giving the right answer was however not the only challenge. The students had to compete under the pressure of time whilst being cheered on by their fellow form members. At times, it was a close race and a lot of changes occurred in the ranking along the competition. The winning houses were: 1st place: Franklin 2nd place: Seacole 3rd place: Hadid
