Bishop’s Top-notch Science Technicians
The Science Faculty celebrate their terrific technicians as ‘Techognition’ Day approaches.
Friday 8th March is ‘Techognition’ Day, a day that celebrates school and college technicians (https://techognition.org). The Science Faculty are lucky to have 2 inventive and intrepid science technicians that are always looking to improve procedures and share their expertise with other schools and colleges. Sarah Keay, our lead science technician, recently worked with the Science Learning Partnership to deliver workshops to ECTs on safe and reliable science practicals as well as providing a refresher course to teachers and technicians on writing and dealing with risk assessments. Dawn Adams has worked hard to develop quick and inexpensive ways of conducting some chemistry practicals including conducting electrolysis using tic-tac pots! As we approach British Science Week, both Sarah and Dawn are preparing another set of fun activities for different year groups as well as our new ‘Evening of Chemistry’ for parents, so they certainly deserve to be celebrated for their hard work and ideas on Friday.
Happy Techognition Day! #techognition @techocognitionUK
