Philosophising with Dr Peter Vardy
Year 13 students took part in a Religious Studies Conference
On December 1st, Year 13 Religious Studies students went to London to take part in a Conference run by leading British Theologian Dr Peter Vardy. This was a fantastic opportunity to further develop their skills and knowledge needed for their A level course. The Conference included multiple topics synoptically linking to Religious Experiences, Religious Language, Nature of God, Divine Command and Secularisation. Dr Vardy gave the students great tips for aiming for A/A* grade such as how to define God effectively and applying AO2 evaluation and analysis * to their essays. At the end, they witnessed a debate on whether they believe God exists, bringing up the issue of the Problem of Evil.
AQA A Level AO2 category = Analyse and evaluate aspects of, and approaches to, religion and belief, including their significance, influence and study.
