House Parr
Lily Parr was a footballing legend and the first woman to be inducted in to the English football hall of fame. She was an icon on and off the pitch.
“In 1920 a local newspaper wrote about this talented 14 year old: “There is probably no greater football prodigy in the whole country. Not only has she speed and excellent ball control, but her admirable physique enables her to brush off challenges from defenders who tackle her”.

“Lily Parr was an inspirational person, not only on the football pitch, but in a society in which she faced prejudice. She seized opportunities that came her way and showed real tenacity and perseverance – something that we should all aspire to as members of House Parr. Her role in women’s football epitomises the excellent teamwork House Parr demonstrates. I am very proud to be Head of House Parr.”

“I am honoured to be the House Captain for Parr this year. Lily Parr was a footballer that inspired millions. She fought through injustice and oppression and thrived by becoming the first woman to be placed in the English football hall of fame. The quality of Parr-ian’s is represented through Lily Parr as she had to have great courage and determination which I truly believe are the qualities that make House Parr.”
