Year 10 Inter House Basketball Competition
House Parr Emerge Champions!
Year 10 pupils were off timetable periods 1 and 2 to take part and support the annual Inter House Basketball competition on Tuesday 4th December,
Each House selected a team of pupils to represent them as they participated in the round robin style competition. Year 10 pupils had all taken part in Basketball this term as part of their Core PE lessons so there was an opportunity to put all of those skills to the test in a competitive House tournament. Indeed there was some excellent skill on display from both individuals and whole teams in front of a very supportive crowd!
Moving in to the last round of matches only 2 teams remained undefeated – House Austen and House Parr who were both on 15 points.
This game was the closest overall with both teams taking and losing the lead before a basket on the final whistle took the 6-4 win (and the tournament) for House Parr.
There were also particularly impressive individual displays from – Ruby Buck, Abby Mann, Izzy Carpenter, Annafaye Fasoto, Amber Keane, Heidi Stephenson, Ibukun Oluleye and Georgia – Leigh Childs Cartwright.
Final placings were as follows – 1st – House Parr (20pts) 2nd – House Austen (15pts) 3rd – House Hadid (8pts) 4th – House Seacole (5pts) 5th – House Franklin (3pts)
A huge well done to all of the pupils who participated in this competition – the level of Basketball on display was fantastic and we look forward to more of the same next year! Thank you to all of the pupils and teachers who came to watch and support the event. Finally, thank you to Miss Cameron and Miss Morgan for organising and running the event.
