Bath bombs bubble and fizz for year 9
Year 9 scientists enjoyed making bath bombs as part of British Science Week
Our science lesson on Wednesday was in the main hall making bath bombs! We each created a bath bomb of different colours using sodium bicarbonate, citric acid and oil. We then had a competition to see which bath bomb dissolved the fastest in the ‘bath’ that the sixth form biologists had set up for us. We learnt about the chemistry behind bath bombs, the fact that it is a neutralisation reaction and the reaction is very endothermic. It was great fun and the winners received an Easter egg as a prize!
