Discovery Week
Pupils in Years 7 to 10 learned new skills through Discovery Week activities
In the last week of term pupils across the year groups were able to choose from a range of residential and day trips and in-school activities. We were really pleased to see how well the girls embraced new experiences and how much they benefited from learning new skills. Residential trips included visits to Paris, Iceland and Belgium, whilst day trips ranged from STEM focused experiences to drama, street dancing and crafts. Enriching their skillset, Year 7 learned outdoor survival, Year 8 how to make lemonade, Year 9 raft building and Year 10 how to raise funds for charity. All in all, it was a successful and exciting week! For more news and photos of the activities, please see our Social Wall: https://bishophatfield.herts.sch.uk/social-wall/
We had excellent feedback from external organisations on the pupils’ behaviour. One Bushcraft team leader said, “The Bishop’s girls were the best school we’ve seen this summer – they were enthusiastic about the activities and were great fun to be with but knew when to quietly listen to instruction. They were a pleasure to supervise!”
Thank you to those staff who worked so hard behind the scenes to ensure the week ran smoothly.
