Tensegrity is a method of supporting a structure using tension. The force used is typically associated with wires and string. It is short for tensional integrity. In a tensegrity team practical, Year 8 pupils constructed physical structures that illustrated how they were held in place by the balance of tensile and compression forces acting upon them.
