Year 7 and 8 District Rounders Tournament 2024

More success for Bishop’s in Years 7 and 8

On Monday 24th June, Miss Rollings and Miss Nelson took the Year 7 and 8 Rounders teams to Monks Walk School to represent BHGS at the District Rounders tournament.

Both teams had won all of their District games so far throughout the season and were looking to continue their run of good form going into the District competition.

The Year 7s won 2 of their 3 games versus Onslow and Monks Walk School and moved into their final game in a winner takes all scenario vs Yavneh. Sadly, the Year 7 team just lost out by 1 Rounder to finish as runners up. Year 7 Rounders team – Pippa K, Maisie C, Katie C, Yana N, Charlotte C, Sonam S, Holly M, Lily O’N, Elizabeth R, Grace C, Kaityln F, Aadhya P, Kristin H and Lucy C (travelling coach/injured player).

The Year 8s won all of their pool games and progressed into the semi final vs Monks Walk where they won by 3 Rounders. Chancellors were the winner of the other semi final and a close final game saw our Year 8s on the right side of the result to win by 1 Rounder and emerge as District Champions. Year 8 Rounders team – Isla P, Emily N, Lauren C, Alexia L, Ruby E-D, Olivia C, Isabella R, Anna McG-H, Lucyanne W, Ellie G, Lola C and Iona C.

A brilliant effort from both teams after an excellent season. Well done everyone!
