Health Week Fun Run 2023
A fun end to Health Week 2023
Health Week 2023 was again a great success this year with pupils taking part in many activities, including Tai Chi sessions and Yoga tasters. Year 10 engaged in some dancing at lunchtime while Year 7 focused on making healthy grab-and-go breakfast cookies (full of wholegrains and superfoods), ready to boost their energy for their busy day at school and the week’s finale: the Fun Run!
Over 130 pupils got the chance to miss their last lessons of the day to run or walk 3K around our outdoor track and raise money for our school. Pupils competed in fancy dress with a red, white and blue theme or/and wore tiaras/crowns/traditional headdress, which added to the cheerful atmosphere. Some had collected sponsorship from family and friends. Despite an unsettled forecast, the weather held and the sunshine made the Slip n’ Slide a perfect end to the day, with a lot of fun and laughter.
All participants were awarded House points and those who had put the most effort into their costumes also received gift vouchers. Well done, Alexia L (7Fr), Betty B-S (7Ha), Kitty B (9Se), Olivia P (9Pa), Erin W (9Pa), Olivia H (9Pa), Mia J (9pa), Polly C (9pa) and Juliana K (10Se)!
We would like to say a huge thank you to all fundraisers and their families, our enthusiastic spectators and staff for helping raise an amazing £600! Thank you to everyone for embracing this new event which might well be back on the agenda next year…
