County Athletics Plate Final 30.06.25

Excellent results for BHGS from the County Athletics Plate Final (30.06.25)

After a successful 6 rounds of the County League Athletics competition, the Senior Athletics team (Years 9 and 10) found out they had qualified as the top seed in our half of Hertfordshire for the County Plate Final.

This involved the top 9th -16th placed schools in Hertfordshire and included some strong opposition including teams from Katherine Warrington, Leventhorpe, Simon Balle, Royal Masonic School, Clement Danes, Queens and Berkhamsted.

The Senior team had some excellent results in very hot and tricky conditions which tested their resilience and energy levels fully.

Particular mentions go to the following pupils – * Scarlett R (Yr 10) who finished 3rd in the High Jump equalling her PB of 1.37m * Favour N (Yr 9) who finished 3rd in the 300m. * Isobel L (Yr 9) who finished 2nd in the 800m. * Amenze E (Yr 9) who finished 3rd in the Shotput. * Georgia W (Yr 9) who finished 3rd in the Long Jump. * Natu K (Yr 10) who finished 1st in BOTH her individual events – 100m and Triple Jump.

This meant the Senior team finished 3rd in the County Plate Final, only 2 points behind the joint winners – an incredible result!

A huge thank you and well done to everyone who has represented the Senior Athletics team this season and good luck to the Year 10 athletes moving on after their last season of Athletics for BHGS.
