Biology Week Begins with a Big Boa!
Key stage 3 scientists enjoy holding and learning about different animals at the start of Biology Week
Biology Week began at Bishops with Year 7 and 8 scientists learning about different animals, their habitats and lifestyles as ‘Animals About’ visit Bishops. Students heard about the unusual ability of the pancake tortoise to squeeze between cracks in rocks to hide from predators and how the leopard gecko gets its spots! The boa constrictor was a great hit with all the students wanting to hold him and the armadillo (called Jigsaw) demonstrated how unusual some mammals can be.
‘It was great fun and we learnt a lot’ said Isabella in 8Fr, ‘we were able to hold all the animals including the big boa constrictor!’.
