Animal Rights focus in Yr10 RE Conference
Year 10 students focus on learning about the rights of animals in annual RE Conference
The RE Conference on 6/12/21, was a great opportunity for Year 10 pupils to learn about Animal Rights. Religious teaching and laws about the welfare and value of animals affect attitudes to animal rights, and the thought-provoking topics included:
– Is it morally right to have animals as pet? – Is it okay to use animals for experiments? – Is using animals for our own means every acceptable? The pupils looked at different religious viewpoints towards using animals as well as scientific, giving the students an overall understanding of how we should use animals.Afterwards, the students had to create a presentation of all their findings and chosen groups in each form presented them to the whole year in the hall. Fantastic effort was put into these presentations and were really engaging for everyone listening. Well done Year 10!
