Year 9 Stand Against Bullying in Life Skills
Year 9 students create posters to raise awareness about homophobic bullying
In Life Skills this term, Year 9 students have been learning about different types of bullying including bullying based on both gender identity and sexuality. To end the half term, they have been creating posters to spread awareness about homophobic bullying and the use of derogatory language, such as using the word ‘gay’ as an insult.
It has been inspiring to see the students from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds discussing and debating issues around this topic with respect and sensitivity and agreeing that bullying in any form is simply not acceptable at our school. Students in Y9 will be voting for their favourite poster after half term.
