Year 7 Welcome ( to be updated in July 2022)
Our school objective of ‘Achieving our potential and enjoying the journey’ starts with each pupil from their first day in Year 7. We invite you to discover what their school life has been like in their first few months at Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School.
Starting secondary school is a big step for pupils… and parents alike. This area of our website provides an insight into what your child has been involved in during the first term at Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School. Take time to listen to their Form Tutors who are extremely proud of the progress they have all made. You can also hear all about school life from our Year 7 pupils themselves and discover the environment in which they have settled
A Message from our Deputy Headteacher, Mr Dudley
As the member of the Senior Leadership Team responsible for overseeing the transition of our Year 7 pupils from their Primary School, it gives me great pleasure to report on their first term at Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School.
Although their transition into secondary school life was far from ideal, I have been hugely impressed by the way in which the year group has settled into the busy day to day life of a busy secondary school. They adapted quickly to our Covid prevention measures, their new timetables, lessons / subjects and their teachers. Congratulations to our new Year 7 as they complete a successful first term at BHGS. Wishing them and you, their parents / carers, a well-deserved break, and a healthy return on the 4th January 2021 for the Spring Term.

A Message from the Head of Year 7, Miss Parkin
As we near the end of the first term for our Year 7, I cannot be prouder of them all as their Head of Year. The first term is always the most difficult but this year, they have faced additional challenges to previous years which they have all overcome with strength and fortitude. Secondary school life is very different as they have all learnt over the last few weeks. They have achieved all that has been asked of them and more. They have grown immensely already but will continue to develop over the next 2 terms. I have the privilege to support each and every one of them as well as you, their families, on their first year of Secondary life. I look forward to getting to know them further as we look ahead to the new year. Have a well-deserved break and Happy New Year to you all.
Miss Parkin (2020)

We would also like to draw your attention to our Virtual Open Day area on our website which was created in the absence of an Open Evening and Open Day tours for prospective parents/carers and their daughters during the Coronavirus crisis. This will give you an insight into our premises and answer some of your questions on enrichment clubs, curriculum and much more.
