The Club that Shall Not be Named
Get creative at our Harry Potter themed enrichment club!
‘The Club that Shall not be Named’ meets every Wednesday after school and is a haven for all fans of Harry Potter – or Potterheads, as the most avid fans are known! Pupils in Years 7 and 8 come along to take part in a whole host of activities related to the Harry Potter series – and the more creative, the better! Over the course of the year, pupils get a chance to create and take part in Harry Potter quizzes, including scavenger hunts where items are hidden around the school and clues are left as to their whereabouts. They get to make their own spells and create their own potions, bottling them, naming and labelling them. They can create bunting, wands, howlers and snitches, and they can also make bracelets and pom-poms in their House colours. But perhaps most impressive of all was the recent Quidditch tournament organised by 8 Hadid pupils, Lorna, Esme and Jo. Members of the club were split into two teams and some were given specific roles, such as the Beaters who aimed Bludgers at those holding the Quaffle! Or Seekers, hunting that elusive Golden Snitch! Pupils got creative and enjoyed the extra exercise and have agreed that this will be a regular part of the club. With no end to the club’s creativity, maybe the next challenge should be to bring in the flying broomsticks!
