Tabletopia for Bishop’s ‘Traitors’ and ‘Faithfuls’
Have you ever wanted to play a game like the TV show The Traitors?
After-school enrichment is one of the aspects of Bishop’s life that teachers drive to excel at. The sheer variety on offer to students of all ages can encourage all sorts of students to try things they never had before and discover new hobbies. One such club is Tabletopia, a club dedicated to table top games and social deduction games. One of the clubs favourite games is Werewolf, where students take on the roles of villager or werewolf, with villagers trying to uncover the werewolves before the werewolves take out the villagers. It is in fact this very game and others like it that have inspired the recent hit BBC TV show ” The Traitors”! What makes this club stand out is how much it encourages students from neurodivergent backgrounds to socialise within a fixed framework, teaching them how they should interact with others if they are a certain character, or react under certain conditions, and learn the repercussions of certain actions, without the worry of if it’s the right choice as it is “just a game”. The club is open to any and all year groups and has a regular attendance of 20 to 30 people weekly. If any student wants to try their hand at a game they need only turn up and join in the fun.
