Year 9 Intermediate Rotary Youth Speaks Team won the District Semi-Final!
We were very proud to have two Intermediate teams through to the Rotary Youth Speaks District Semi-Final on Tuesday 29th January at Barnwell School, Stevenage.
The Year 7 team of Lola McGuinness, Saifya Gul and Aliyeen Awan spoke brilliantly on the topic of gender equality and the gender pay gap. They explained how much our school do to try and break gender stereotypes and spoke fluently and confidently. They were the youngest team through to the Semi-Finals and they did our school proud! Well done to them.
The Year 9 team of Lily Leverton, Nelly Currant and Katie Honour spoke on the topic of homelessness and discussed the question of whether the government are doing enough to support people who are homeless. The girls won the Semi-Final and are now through to the District Final at Leighton Buzzard on Tuesday 26th February!
Good luck girls, your school are very proud of you.
