KS3 Young Carers’ Hatfield Park Trip
Young Carers in years 7 to 9 visited Hatfield Park gardens
On Wednesday 25th September Young Carers from Years 7 to 9 visited the beautiful Hatfield Park East and West gardens. We were fortunate to have a sunny afternoon for some respite from home and school responsibilities. Pupils were encouraged to take photographs and have created a display opposite the Young Carers’ notice board on the second floor. A herd of deer was spotted too! Ms Carroll organised mindful activities and we discussed some of the historic events that have happened on our school’s doorstep. Unfortunately we ran out of time to visit the famous oak tree where the Princess Elizabeth reputedly found out she was queen (reigning from 1558 to 1603) but we would love the opportunity to return!
Many thanks to Mrs Brimley, our link School Governor, who secured the tickets and for all those who took part.
“I loved seeing nature, the lake and Hatfield House!” said a Y7 Young Carer.
