A Fantastic Half Term in Food
This half-term in Food has been filled with exciting achievements, from competition success and primary school collaborations to skill-building in pastry, sauces, and creative cake decorating
This half-term has been packed with exciting activities and achievements in Food.
We’re incredibly proud of our Year 10 students, Maria Alessi and Noah Wikner, who showcased their talent in the Springboard Future Chef competition. Maria won the South East Final and competed in the Regional Final this week, delivering an outstanding performance!
We were also delighted to welcome Year 6 pupils of Oakview Primary School into our food room, where their students learned to cook and develop new skills as part of their South America project. It was a fantastic experience for them all.
We were also fortunate to be one of just 200 schools in the UK to receive a delivery of fresh mussels from Fish Heroes. Our students had the unique opportunity to learn how to cook with them—and for some, to taste them for the first time!
Meanwhile, our Food Enrichment Club focused on cake decorating this half term —finishing with beautiful roses and hearts, spreading joy through baking.
Well done to all our talented students for their dedication and creativity in the kitchen!
