Our New Building
Our New Building
We are delighted that Bishop’s Hatfield has been chosen by the government to be in the first batch of schools to be rebuilt under the government’s Priority Schools Building Programme. This is the first new secondary school to be completely rebuilt in the Welwyn Hatfield area for many years. We moved into the building in February 2017 and since then work has progressed with the demolition of the old buildings and more recently, the landscaping of our grounds.
The new building has provided us with modern facilities including a sports hall, dance studio, performance hall, drama studio and IT suites. The building is also fully wired for high volume computer use including wifi access.

A new drive through and drop off zone has recently been established to enable parents to drop off pupils in the morning (unfortunately, on-site parking is not available). Externally, there are also six new netball/tennis courts and large playing fields. We are waiting for the newly seeded grass to establish in some areas which will become available for use later.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported this enormous project. This includes the Wolfson Foundation for funding a significant amount of new IT and equipment for STEM subjects and the Parents’ Association who provided a professional lighting and sound system in our new hall. If you feel able to support other developments or are able to make a donation to our School Fund, please visit the Support Us section of this website.
