GCSE results 2015— Amazing!!

Following on from the incredible successes at A Level last week, Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School students and staff were overjoyed at this year’s GCSE exam results which continue the improvement trend and are the best ever recorded by the school. An astounding 77.68% of girls achieved 5A*-C grades including English and Maths which shows incredible success and progress in the core subjects alongside optional GCSE choices. Overall, 30% of all the GCSE grades were either A* or A, with, in addition to excellent English and Maths achievements, there was exceptional success in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, Geography and History. We are particularly proud of our EBACC score of 52.68% which measures the percentage of girls achieving 6 A*-C grades in English, Maths, 2 Sciences, a Modern Foreign Language and either History or Geography. This is particularly significant as neither Modern Foreign Languages, nor History or Geography are compulsory at GCSE but girls recognise them as valuable subjects and choose them as...

Summer Showcase July 2015

Friday 10th July, the balmiest of evenings, saw the Hall come alive with Music and Dance (and Martial Arts!) as we celebrated our girls’ creativity at our Summer Showcase. Once again, we saw the diversity we are so proud of, from future X-factor winners bravely singing solos and much-practised instrumental pieces to Irish dancing and rock bands. Well done to all the girls!  More images in our...
